Ven Pongal

Ven Pongal is the famous South Indian Rice dish. Venpongal with Sambar and Coconut Chutney is the famous breakfast dish.





Cook Time: 20Mins
Ingredients:
Raw rice                  1 Cup
Moong Dhal             1/4 Cup
Ghee                       3 tbsp
Cumin Seeds           1tsp
Pepper Corns           10Nos.
Ginger                     1inch (Cut into small pieces)
Green Chilli              1No
Cashew Nuts           10Nos
Curry Leaves           1Strand
Salt                         to taste
Water                      4cups

Preparation Method:
1. Soak Rice and dhal in water for 15mins.
2. Heat a pan and add Ghee,Cashewnuts,Cumin seeds,Ginger pieces,Pepper corns,Chilli,Curry Leaves and fry them.
3. Add the fried ingredients to the rice and pressure cook them for 2 whistles with 4cups of water.
